The JLI course, "Life in the Balance" kicked off yesterday. Students heard from survivors, doctors and Rabbi Velly Slavin about the BRCA breast-and-ovarian-cancer-causing genetic mutations, which an issue of specific relevance to the Ashkenazi Jewish community.
