Born in Brooklyn N.Y. and bred on the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s dream of making Judaism available and meaningful in every place of the world, from age 17, Velly started traveling for Chabad, energetically undertaking community building, Jewish education and outreach, in places like Moscow, Israel, San Francisco, Budapest, New Zealand and regional Australia. He received his Rabbinical Ordination in Pretoria, South Africa from the Rabbinate in Israel. After marrying the love of his life Chanchkie in 2009, he taught In a Special Education School for 3 years.Today he is the father of two adorable children, the Director of the Chabad Malvern Meaningful Living Centre and Co-director of Chabad Malvern’s Giving Kitchen, where he fulfils his two greatest passions in life; teaching Judaism’s timeless meaning and cooking for charity.
