    Ingredients and cooking utensil list for Challah:

    Ingredients: 
    2kg self raising flour
    1.5 cups of sugar
    1.5 cups of vegetable or canola oil 
    3 tbsp dry yeast 
    2 tbsp salt 
    4 eggs (extra egg for glaze)
    4 cups of Very hot water 
    Toppings optional: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion and garlic flakes, choc sprinkles etc.
     
    Utensils:
    Large bowl or pot
    Large mixing spoon
    4 cup measuring jug 
    Glass cup
    1 tablespoon
    Pastry brush
    Baking Trays and baking paper

    Ingredients

    Chopped Pickled Herring
    8 Pickled herring fillets (available at Kraus, Kosher Kingdom, some Coles)
    One bunch fresh parsley
    One green apple
    2 hard boiled eggs
    Frozen bread or bagels – 100-120 gram
    Black pepper optional

    Pomegranate and Fresh Basil Herring
    6 majtlis or Schmaltz herring fillets (available at Kraus or Kosher Kingdom)
    1 red onion
    1 pomegranate
    1 bunch basil
    5 dates
    Cracked black pepper

    Pickled Herring in Coconut Cream 
    6 pickled herring fillets
    1 red capsicum
    1 carrot
    1 bunch chives
    Half cup coconut cream 

    Utensils:
    Chopping board
    Knife
    Whisk
    Food processor
    Platter
